You can trust TAW to restore or improve your wind generators. Our company has been a leader in the rotating equipment field since 1921.  In 2010 and 2011, a large percentage of utility-sized wind turbine generators will be coming out of warranty for the first time. O&M companies often leave it to the wind turbine owner to decide on service providers for failed components. Assuring that the generator is repaired right the first time is crucial.  A typical 1.5 MW wind generator can cost $1,000 or more in lost generation revenue for each day the unit out of service. Don’t leave it to just any local motor repair shop to “try” to copy the generator design. TAW can make it better than new with engineered solutions.

Welcome to TAW Wind Services!    We are one of the largest providers of maintenance and engineering services for generators and motors in the world – either independent or OEM. This is the business our company was founded on in 1921. Today, it’s still our largest business activity, representing almost half the sales of our 12 facility company.

After 85 years of experience in generator and motor repair and upgrade, we rewound our first wind turbine generator in 2005. As larger units increasingly came out of warranty in 2008 and 2009, TAW repair activity in this segment increased. Now, TAW is launching TAW Wind Services, to bring even better focus to this rapidly expanding service segment, and the issues inherent to generators in wind farm application in North America.

You can trust your wind turbine generators to our staff of highly trained craftsmen, guided and supported by experienced design engineers.   We maintain the highest of quality requirements throughout our company, as evidenced by the ongoing work in our sister divisions in demanding applications such as nuclear qualified motor repair (subject to 10CFR50, Appendix B requirements), electric utility generator modernizations and electrical equipment manufacturing (certified to ISO9001-2000 requirements), and service for the mining industry (with appropriate UL certifications).
