TAW and TVA Alliance Formed to Provide Comprehensive
Power Plant Services
from a Single Source
Tampa, Florida and Muscle Shoals, Alabama — TAW,
Tampa Armature Works, and TVA, Tennessee Valley Authority Power Services,
have formed an alliance to perform a wide variety of MRO (Maintenance,
Repair and Overhaul) services for power generation plants. Together,
their comprehensive service and repair capabilities offer the broadest
support and power plant MRO experience in the southeast United States. It
provides plant operators a single source to reduce downtime and
maintenance costs while improving productivity in fossil fuel,
hydroelectric and nuclear-powered electric generating facilities.
Their capabilities include repair and reconditioning
of: electric motors up to 10,000 horsepower, high voltage (100 MW) and
high-speed turbines, core- and shell-form transformers up to 500 kV, high
pressure pumps and valves, switchgear to 38 kV, as well as a variety of
electrical and mechanical equipment. Comprehensive on-site services
including emergency callout, preventive and predictive maintenance,
hydroelectric plant equipment repairs and maintenance, steam plant audits
and adjustments, troubleshooting and engineering analysis, maintenance
equipment asset management and other services are also available.
The TAW/TVA alliance also provides qualified 10CFR50,
Appendix B nuclear equipment service, UL® certified service, and meets
ANSI nondestructive examination and inspection standards. The alliance
also offers comprehensive testing for rotating equipment up to 13.8 kV.
