TAW and TVA Combined Power Plant Maintenance,
Service and Repair Capabilities Displayed at Power-Gen ’04
 Orlando,
Florida — TAW, Tampa Armature Works, and TVA, Tennessee Valley Authority,
exhibited their combined capabilities to perform a wide variety of MRO
(Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) services for power generation plants
in booth number 1644 at Power-Gen ’04 in Orlando, Florida, November 30
through December 2, 2004. Power-Gen ’04 is the largest exhibition in the
world of services and equipment for power generation facilities.
In their booth, TAW and TVA showcased their
capabilities to reduce downtime and maintenance costs while improving
productivity for fossil, hydroelectric and nuclear powered electric
generating facilities. Specifically, the booth included information about
their capabilities to recondition electric motors up to 10,000
horsepower, high voltage (100 MW) and high-speed turbines, core- and
shell-form transformers up to 500 kV, high pressure pumps and valves,
switchgear to 38 kV, as well as a variety of electrical and mechanical
equipment.
Also displayed was their comprehensive on-site
services including emergency callout, preventive and predictive
maintenance, hydroelectric plant equipment repairs and maintenance, steam
plant audits and adjustments, troubleshooting and engineering analysis,
maintenance equipment asset management and other services.
TAW and TVA have formed an alliance to provide power
plant operators reduce MRO costs by combining the capabilities and power
generation experience of both organizations. Together, this alliance
offers the widest range of capabilities and broad experience to repair,
maintain, troubleshoot and manage power plant operating equipment.
