Integrated Power Services Acquires Tampa Armature Works, Inc.

IPS, a North American leader of single-source solutions for industrial and commercial power and mechanical processes, has acquired Tampa Armature Works, Inc. (TAW). The sale includes all eleven TAW locations serving customers in the Southeastern U.S., Caribbean, South America, and internationally.
TAW’s four divisions — Service Centers, Power Systems, Custom Equipment, and Technical Field Services — offer TAW customers integrated single-source power solutions. These divisions will operate within IPS as a new region in its North American network. Greg Hanlon will lead this new region as Executive Vice-President and General Manager of TAW, reporting to John Zuleger, President, and CEO of IPS. 
The acquisition builds on IPS’ leading service capabilities across North America for electromechanical equipment, expanding their Power Management services with NETA-certified technicians, switchgear and transformer repair, controls and drives, custom generator sets, e-houses, and standby power generation services. IPS’ industry-leading teams and network will include 55 locations, 44 repair centers, 1,700 employees, 1,000 skilled technicians, and 300 full-time field technicians.

A New Look- Brand Transition
IPS has been very excited with the terrific progress we have made since acquiring TAW and integrating the company. Since the transaction, TAW has been operating under an “endorsed brand” of IPS as “an IPS company.” This provided nine months of associating these brands together and introducing IPS to communities unfamiliar with us.
With sensitivity to the outstanding history and legacy of the TAW brand and after careful consideration of the progress we have made to introduce IPS, we have made the decision to fully transition our branding of Tampa Armature Works, Inc. (TAW, an IPS company) to Integrated Power Services (IPS), effective June 1, 2023.
Integrating TAW’s three divisions – Service Centers, Power Systems, and Custom Equipment into IPS will align brand messaging, introduce our Florida businesses outside of Florida, and provide a broader range of capabilities across North America to all IPS customers.
TAW’s Technical Field Services (TFS) division will transition to the National Field Services (NFS) brand and join their 50-plus NETA Certified Technicians supporting power management customers. The TFS division will join the IPS Power Management business, along with the recently acquired National and Southland Group brands, to comprise the fastest-growing provider of power services in North America.
We understand that this change requires clarification. We have developed a detailed plan and timeline to ensure a smooth transition. Over the coming months, you can expect a transition to the IPS logo in the many impressions you see of the TAW brand today.
